Interesting map. I don't think they accounted for the fact the Land Rush settlement locations are likely to have a bigger control area then non Land Rush settlement locations because the Land Rush people will have longer to establish themselves before the others can build.
I hadn't noticed before that G and H would be "fighting" over the Highlands hex between them, though H doesn't need it because you can get plenty of stone from the Mountains.
Also keep in mind on that map the Pass north of H is likely in the wrong spot and should be shifted one hex to the NW as shown on the larger map.

I personally like H a lot, proximity to a main road, a mountains access point and resources makes it really attractive. Only down side is that it is quite close to a starting city, but I've always felt that being open and readily accessible would serve our purposes very well, so it isn't that bad.
