For some reason I can not add an avatar to my profile and would love some help.
Tried copying and pasting the url of an image into the avatar section...it does nothing. =[

What's the URL you're trying to use?

I hereby elect Dario as my replacement for being helpful and answering questions. He's at hero-level as far as I'm concerned.

Its quirky sometimes. A couple solutions to try:
A) Put the url through tinyurl.com or tinypic.com
B) As you put the url into the avatar field, re-enter your password. don't change it. Just re-enter your already existing pass.
C) Avatars can only be 100x100 pixels so if you use one with a width or length larger than that you have to enter the width or length as something smaller or equal to 100.

Nah, the issue with that was just that she was trying to connect to the secure version of paizo's boards and I'm pretty sure proboards doesn't have a secure session running =P

Oh ok. Well for future reference, those are solutions that have worked in the past for me.

well I was glad to see this thread - cuz I have been trying and trying and trying to get this to work myself, and I'm getting awfully frustrated. Frustrated Frostrazor is a very scary thing. Like that giant green monster says - you won't like me when I get angry.
That all being said - sadly this thread and the info within did not seem to fix the issue.
I tried tried typing, copy/paste the url, the pic, put the height/width at 100 each and all sorts of other things; but sadly my photo is as colorless as a yeti in a blizzard on the tundra

I am a little disappointed that it has to be an on line image and I can't load my own image. I understand the general principle behind why, except that a 100x100 pixel image is tiny and doesn't take much space at all.

A fallback for any avatar issues is always to save the image to your computer and re-host it on a site like photobucket, imgur, or even your facebook account. If you want, you can send me a link to the photo or email me the file and I'll host it in my photobucket and provide you a link that will work for the forums.
Edit: This applies to anyone who's having avatar issues. It's not a hassle.

I would appreciate that. I'll send the image your way after I re-size it. Just so that I have something for now. I'll see if I can find something better later. I think I used to have an account with something called image shack if that is still around.
