Growing up in the land of eternal revolution, Galt, can be a bit rough, and so it was too for Nash. His parents managed to get caught up in one of the movements, and saw themselves overtake the government in place at the time and be installed as mid-level officials. That lasted for three years until the people became restless again and called for more blood, and his parents were sent to have their heads taken by the Final Blades. They managed to hide Nash with a friend before being taken away, but eventually he too was killed in the bloody revolution. Nash spent his formative years on the streets of Isarn, learning how to make a living by telling a rousing tale or by pilfering the pockets of passerbys. Being able to pass for a human child seemed to work often and garner more sympathy from the dominantly human populace in the way of scraps of food and a few coin here and there.
Eventually Nash got involved with one of the many Thieves' Guilds operating in Isarn and started making a name for himself working cons and fleecing easy marks whose overzealous patriotism for their revolutionary government belied their better judgement. Eventually the new regimes began cracking down on the criminal elements in the city and the bloodshed carried over into Isarn's underworld, prompting Nash to get out of the country while he still had his head.
By pony and on foot he made his way into the River Kingdoms, picking up survival skills on the road from savvy travelers as he met them in passing, and from a few hunters who fancied revealing a trick of the trade or two in exchange for a good story of intrigue, lost love and bloody battles in Galt. Eventually he made his way into the heart of the River Kingdoms, and seeks a place to call home and a new purpose, where he can put his talents to good use.
