Name: Dame Vayne "Redcap" dIr
Gender: Female
Race: Elf (Forsaken)
Class Paladin/Fighter
Alignment LG (+/-)
Physical Description Tall and muscular, even for an Elf, for Vayne the usual reserve her people are known for comes off much of the time as bitter or angry. Then again, she is often bitter and angry. There is some debate as to where her nickname comes from, whither it be from her crop of red hair or her preference for red headgear; either way, she has been known to take the angry fae of the same name as her symbol from time to time, and joke (in her somber, straight faced way) she dies her head-ware the same way they do. Her eyes change color with her mood, arguably hazel but fading from green to blue with a tint of amber or orange when she looses her temper.
Equipment
Backstory
Vayne adventures to forget. Born to a clan of Forsaken Elves in Varisia, she married young to an adventurous Knight named Sir Tannen Hotspur and had a son. Though warned by her kin of the fragile nature of humans, she was unprepared for his violent death while campaigning against Goblins. Overwhelmed with grief she armed herself with what remaining gear Tannen had left behind and set out to avenge him. Though it nearly killed her, her personal crusade to wipe out the Goblins responsible for his death was achieved, her habit of wearing her blood-drenched scarf about her head giving her her nickname, "Redcap." Unable to face her son or show any matronly instinct after her bloody war, she shut down inside, instead giving him over to be raised by Kenzil, a witch who had been friend and mentor to her in her darkest hours. With nothing left to hold her there, Vayne left Varisia to follow her "brightness," a road that led her to take up the red cloak of Iomedae and go on crusade to the Worldwound. Finding the demon-overrun lands too much for even her internal rage to match, she rediscovered a love for life that surprised her, and she retreated to the River Kingdoms and the Crusader Road, helping where she may as she continues to meander through her personal darkness, hoping, however faintly, to find a little "brightness" within.
