This is not intended to be a complaint, but merely a hopefully helpful observation. I'm haven't used Proboards much, but I'm not a fan. I don't like the ads and the navigation is leaving a little something to be desired. In another game I'm in a guild that uses www.phpbb.com/. I like it a lot. From a technical aspect I can't compare the two, but since this is very early on in the life of this guild, should people be interested in checking out something different, it'd probably be best to do it sooner rather than later. If there's any interest in learning more about phpbb.com, I'd be happy to inquire with the other guild to find out the details. If not, no worries. Just running it up the flagpole.

We're actually in the process of discussing either building our own site or leveraging another option. This is good advice!
Also, welcome to the boards, Moriquende! =]

I wanted to ping this thread, as I can't find the other discussions on site development. I do think we're facing some limitations (and possible PR-challenges) from our present site in comparison to some other groups. I don't really see Google+ or Facebook as viable solutions as they lack some of the structure and organization needed for data/knowledge management (at least from my experience with both). Do we have, at present, members with the skill necessary to move us to a better long-term platform? Is there anything that the less-skilled can do to assist? Do folks have any requirements that we should keep in mind for site viability? I, for instance, would like to ensure we have structure Discussion Forums, with options for multiple sub-forums and distributed admin rights. The format used by social media like Facebook makes it near impossible for me to find data quickly. I also think consolidated file hosting would be critical, so we could maintain archives of images, etc. that are useful to our members.

My dislike for proboards aided in me going silent for so long. I don't really have anything constructive to add nor am I skilled in such a way to be helpful If there is anything I could do I certainly up for giving it a shot. I would just need a lot of direction. I am more familiar with Guild Launch. There is a chance they will be adding things to the site for Pathfinder Online when it launches, or at some point there after.

I'm up for throwing a $100 at a website. I can't build one however. I do believe Guild Launch has a PFO section now.

So it does. I'd be willing to play around with making a site there to just try it on for size. I'd have to make sure I can fully transfer control before I went ahead and made it. Thoughts?

Guild launch (from my brief look) looks interesting. I would be more keen on going with a free site first before putting in the time and money for a paid site. Certainly would be interested to hear input from the originators as it seemed they had discussed making a different site (judging by the older post above).

I would also prefer to stay free. Since Alpha is right around the corner, and Month 1 of EE currently slated to be June 2014, I feel we have a little bit of a time crunch if we decide we would like to migrate elsewhere. I think there is a substantial population that has refrained from aligning themselves with an organization until closer to the launch of the game. I think our goal should be (if we decide we do want to migrate) to be fully established with a new site before June.

I can get behind a more organized with a separate forum. Mixing discussion with official details can get confusing.
