Name: Dorin Racbur
Gender: Male
Race: Dwarf
Age: 65
Class: Cleric of Torag
Alignment: LG
Physical Description: Dorin is short and stocky. He weighs 175 pounds and stands about 4'2". He has green eyes and dark brown hair with streaks of silver/grey. He wears a long beard and will sometimes braid it if going to a formal gathering though most of the time he leaves it natural.
Clothing/Items: Dorin wears a blacksmith apron made of thick leather most of the time. The apron bears the holy symbol of Torag on the front. During times of battle he wears either chainmail or mythril full plate when available and he uses a war hammer to crush his enemies. He wears a silver holy symbol to Torag and also uses a throwing axe as a secondary weapon.
Personality: Dorin has two loves in his life the first being the worship of Torag through the pounding of steel at the forge, the other being ale. When not at the forge, he can most likely be found at the nearest tavern drinking the darkest ale (closest to dwarven as possible) he can find. He does not mind gathering his own resources as that way he can mine exactly what he needs to make the items he wants. He is fun loving and understanding of the needs of others though he may not openly admit such. He is always open to offer the blessings of Torag in a time of need whether though healing or the destruction of evil. He has a strong hatred of undead and has a dislike of giants particularly ogres.
History: Dorin was born and raised in the area now known as the lost mines. Early in his childhood an unknown evil came to the mines causing his clan to flee. The Racbur clan has a long history of destroying undead, as all dwarven clerics they worship through crafting at the forge. In addition to forging, clan Racbur had the added responsibility of protecting those mining ore against the evils of the underworld particularly the undead spirits. After fleeing their home, Dorin and what was left of the Racbur clan made it to Highhelm to start anew. However they did not get the warm welcome they were initially seeking. Since none but the few survivors knew the truth of what happened in the Lost Mines, it was assumed the fall was due to intentional sabotage. It was no secret many of the clan Racbur wanted to come home to Highhelm and it looked very suspicious nearly all of the survivors were from that very clan. The clan was charged with sabotage and was stripped of all honors they once had. Many of the clan leaders including Dorin’s parents were executed for the crimes they did not commit. The children such as Dorin and his brother Ryan were placed to work in the mines for the rest of their lives. When Ryan was old enough he decided he had enough of working in the mines and decided he and Dorin should escape. Against Dorin’s judgment, Ryan staged a ‘distraction’ then ran for it. Dorin followed trying to make Ryan come to his senses but before he could get to his brother it was too late, Ryan was killed by a guard trying to stop them from getting away. Dorin took the opportunity to finish running, fearing for his own life. To this day, he carries the burden of his brother’s death on his shoulders and it is with that burden that he came North to the River Kingdoms in search of a new start.
