paizo.com/threads/rzs2p5pu?Poll-Pathfinder-Online-Crowdforging-Vote-2The next development priority poll is now out. Though imo there needs to be a lot of clarification on what the options mean before I place a vote. The votes are changeable though. The Pet System will allow for both cosmetic and useful pets. The Additional Gods will expand the pantheon of gods that your character can chose for alignment. The Fast Travel and Mounts will allow for prettier travel between settlements. They need to state whether or not the pet system translates to Druid/Ranger companions as well as Wizard Familiars/Summons or not. They need to state what Gods they are already considering for the Pantheon, because this option implies that they are leaving some out. They need to expand upon what they mean by "prettier travel", as in if fast travel and mounts will certainly be included and it winning just will make them spend more time polishing it more before working on the pet system at all?

So a little more explanation to what the options mean:
More Gods - As explained above currently we'll launch with nine gods, one for each alignment. Each god will have some custom robes/outfits, holy symbols with domain specific abilities, shrines/churches/temples/whatever in appropriate locations, decorations for shrines for each faith, and a faith rating for players that represents how much they are in tune with their god. We tried to choose gods that are specifically tied to the River Kingdoms area (and our super sad we didn't have room for Erastil).
Because of limited time we won't get everyone's favorite god in the initial list. The more gods option will add nine more gods to the list, probably one of each alignment except CE.
If this one isn't voted up we'll add gods eventually, it will just take longer.
Initial gods are currently planned to be(1 per alignment) Iomedae Abadar Gorum Gozreh Lamashtu Norgorber Shelyn Desna Asmodeus
Mounts and Fast Travel - Players will be able to train and buy/sell mounts they can ride around the world wherever they want. They most likely will not be used in combat initially; long term they will but mounted combat is a whole new animation set that basically doubles the animation work for combat. Players will also be able to book passage to another settlement via a fast travel service (if the settlements on both ends are friendly and both have the fast travel upgrades) that is cheaper than owning a mount, but only takes the player on a predefined path between settlements. This may be a horse, a wagon, whatever. Players are still attackable while using fast travel. Even without combat there are a lot of animations involved in riding.
Note fast travel is not teleporting. Only high level wizards can do that.
If this one isn't voted up we'll add the functionality at a later date.
Pets - Pets are primarily animal companions for rangers and druids. It will also allow familiars and random guard dogs or other such animals to follow the players along, but those are not primary features of a class so they'll be less useful. The tech involved is all the AI for pets pathing with you plus combat AI, plus all the mechanics work balancing them and all the animations. This also makes things like hiring mercenaries or hirelings to follow you around possible since its basically the same system. Also vanity pets so you can have a random pet animal that follows you around.
Animal Companions will require slotting an ability to have them active, so using them will be a trade off with other powers. Thus if this isn't voted up, we can add them at a later date without throwing everything off as Rangers and Druids will have other powers they can slot in the mean time.

I'm currently voting for the Pet System. I would really like to see animal companions and familiars available from the start. Characters can change faith and I'm okay with being on foot for a little awhile as long as they bring mounts in eventually.
I can easily be swayed to change my vote if someone has a really convincing argument.

Personally, I like the god one the best, but I think the pet one is more useful sooner since it will take some time for people to get their settlements to the point where they can upgrade to fasttravel, but pets and animal companions are generally a lower level thing (at least in the Table Top game)

Pets is probably the best as it facilitates more gameplay options. I really do not want to see mounts without mounted combat. The deities are nice for roleplay, but I don't know that they would actually add a whole lot in terms of gameplay beyond what is found in the starting 9.

I'd really like to see that expanded. Cayden and Nethys will be my character's gods

They plan on expanding them, but if it isn't voted on it won't be the first thing they work on.

If you aren't planning to be a cleric I'm not sure the gods available to begin with will be that big of a deal. They still exist in the setting just without mechanical support which is pretty much just a divine caster thing.

Though it is kind of a big deal for Paladins and Clerics. The vote is kind of pitting Rangers/Druids/Wizards against Clerics/Paladins.

I'd rather see them wait for mounts until they can incorporate mounted combat in properly, which I don't see something likely to happen in early enrollment. Pets are good as well, but again, a crazy involved system I'd rather see them get right than rush out because it won the vote. Plus, I'd really rather not see everyone followed around by hirelings.

Yep I think pets is probably the one that has the greatest options to expand the look and feel of the gameplay. Not likely to be something I will personally go for but it would be good to see it in.

I'm torn between God vs. Pet. Paladins have the option of getting a mount which shares a Druid's Animal Companion chart on the Table-Top. The nine standard pantheon of Gods is pretty decent, though I can relate when it comes to having a better selection of deities at the start.
For the game's sake, I'm leaning for the Pet option, simply because having an Animal Companion is a huge class feature for Druids and can greatly influence the playability of other classes like Paladins, Rangers, and Wizards. Since we already have the nine gods available, that gives other classes (like Paladins and Clerics) a relatively decent selection from which to garner our spells.

I suspect strongly that paladin mounts will be mounts, not pets. I doubt they will follow you around when dismounted.

Although, a Paladin with a horse that he/she never rides would be hilarious!

How could they NOT include Erastil? That's preposterous!!! He has such a large influence in the River Kingdoms. WAY more than Asmodeus or even Gozreh. I know that they want to cover all the alignments but clerics of a deity can be within one step of their god's alignment (so a Lawful Neutral or a Neutral Good cleric can still worship Iomedae for example and still get spells).
I think mounts at the beginning of the game would be a mistake. Odds are with this level of wild frontier, your mount would die out there by the claws of some predator or worse. If the realm is vast then it should take a while to get around, like the devs said in their blog.
If anyone's going to vote, it should be for the Gods or the pets IMO.
