I hope posting this is ok? I'm totally dedicated to PFO. I see so much that we have never gotten in a MMO before, not all together in one game. But with at least a year, likely longer till beta can even think about happening, ill mess around with other games until closer to early enrollment. Guess I've been living under a rock. I heard a few mentions about ESO but never took the time to look at it. Having played Skyrim, and the one made prior to skyrim, I'm pretty familiar with the world. Looks like they captured the flavor of those games pretty well. Here is a intro vid where they overview the game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxJTsq2XeKY No clue about beta or a release date. Has anyone checked the game out? What do you think? Nothing even close to what PFO will offer, that's for sure!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLp0ykvotEI Here is a video from a guy who got the chance to visit the studio and play a Alpha version of the game. He doesn't show footage, but discusses the game and some common concerns. After checking out this video and a couple of others, I can pretty much tell that for me, it would be a game that would be theme park, eye candy. That I would run through but not stick around too long. The RvR with the 3 factions seems cool, but limited and being all quest driven just doesn't have the appeal it did 10 years ago. Looks neat though. I'll try and get into beta just for kicks, but doubt I would sub for very long at all.

My understanding is that ESO will still basically be a Theme Park MMO which kills most any interest I might have in it. You'd think with the way Elder Scrolls games work it would have ended up a sandbox game. I also don't like being stuck in a single class. They claim there will be a lot of flexability within the classes, but it doesn't provided to limitless freedom found in Elder Scrolls game. It also sacrifices the soft level cap of the Elderscrolls games for a hard cap of level 50 like every other MMO out there.
I'll probably try it out, but i don't expect it to have any kind of longevity as an MMO.

Yeah, I would have loved to see ESO use a skill system like The Secret World does.

I did sign up for the Beta today. I guess it's something to do while I wait for PFO. Also it will give me a chance to give the game a real shot without needing pay for it. Maybe they'll manage to diverge from the Themepark MMO model sufficiently enough to make it work.

I signed up to. The chances of getting an invite are slim. I've signed up for lots of Betas and have yet to get one. So what the heck, sign up for one more.

Just filled out the Beta Application, they list my chances of being selected for Closed Beta as Excelent... but if I get into Closed Beta, I won't be telling you anything about it, sorry. (It's called an NDA ya know ) edit: I've been in more beta's then they give lines for, so I ended up putting in multiple games on the same line. DOH, I forgot a few Beta's I've been in....

I was only listed as above average I didn't lie and list Betas. Not that I'm saying you lied, I could have lied.

I was only above average until I did the last "Tell us about yourself and why we should accept you" part. I think it looks for keywords or phrases in there. I suspect that pretty much everyone will get in a some point. They are going to want to stress test the servers which will require huge numbers of people.

Yeah, I was only average till I typed in the box. I don't know if it looks for key words. I think it jumped up the moment I started typing. I think it bumps you up a level in their estimate just for taking the time to write anything.
This is the first time I'm signing up for a Beta with a computer intended to handle gaming though. So my chances might be higher.

That + to add extra lines for betas only lets you have like 6 lines. I've been in over a dozen betas.
