I don't think I've mentioned it before, but Erian's secondary interests will most definitely be in this Ring...he loves exploration and cartography!

Most excellent sir. I think for the sheer fact of wandering and exploration, the Ring of Wood will get plenty of part-time Keepers.

The tenet of the Circle is "Not to initiate aggression." Maybe I should let you all in on how I came up with this mumbo jumbo I typed up for this Ring's description. Gather round! Its story time! I stole everything from Calhoun. He was the blueprint for this foundation. "Striders", I derived and chose from my his last name, "Farstrider". Striders would represent Cal's passion for adventure, scouting, exploring, and plain curiosity spurred wandering. . Fear not. Frostrazor does not initiate aggression. He finishes it. And all along I thought the "Striders" were a nod to Tolkien.

I'm fairly certain Cal's last name was an unconscious nod to Tolkien, if indirectly. WoW, WoT, and others have all incorporated nods in that direction - and it has become iconic.

Here is what I have so far for a roster. Is there anyone I'm missing? Or information about those I have I am missing and/or wrong on? Ring of Wood Roster

Sorry, when I was double checking the "what ring are you" thread I only saw your post that just said Shadow.
I don't know if they are mutually exclusive from one another.

Nymerias, if you would also add Doomcrow as a Warden please and thank you. Also, if Half-Elves aren't available, I will be Human.

Nymerias, if you would also add Doomcrow as a Warden please and thank you. Also, if Half-Elves aren't available, I will be Human. I was wondering if this should be brought up in a thread. There are quite a few half-elves in this guild. Unfortunately half-elves lost the poll. If half-elves are not available by the time playing starts do we want to all consciously choose one over the other, or keep it an individual option? I was torn myself between them, but if ears are an adjustment that can be made then it might be possible to start with an elf and make them look like a half-elf easier than starting with a human and making them look like a half-elf. In that respect I suppose it might depend on what generation half-elf you are, and thus how far removed from the Even influence. Calhoun is thinking human. I am thinking elf. What do the other half-elves think?

It should be whatever side you feel more closely connected to. I imagine that they will allow an option to change your race as they bring in the other starting races.

If it makes a difference, my race is Ulfen (Which is a human culture from the Lands of the Linnorn Kings). Though it matters little, since there will be no "classes" in the game, my pen and paper version of Frostrazor was a Barbarian/Rogue. (that is if you want to make your form look complete). That combo made him a very dangerous tracker/stealthy guy in the woods. He could sneak up and ambush and really lay the hurt on someone, but if they got the drop on me, the rage would go off and he'd still lay the hurt.

Note that the Member page shows folks' Ring(s) as well once the profile is updated. As for the half-elf issue, I'd likely start as human as that flows better with Erian's back story. He could eaily be adopted by his elven father (which plays well with me RL since we adopted our last daughter from China). For ethnicity, you might actually be able to apply that via Traits at some point given one of the add-ons from the KS.

It does, but it wouldn't list you as a Keeper interested in joining the Striders in their exploring endeavors. I can also try to keep the roster updated before the forum titles are updated. I also just like getting a quick visual summary of the diversity of the group. "Class" wise I think we are rather diverse, mostly because of you and Hark

Good day and well met to all. Be I Shadowmyst the walker of darkness a ranger a very little renown. I am here to pledge my support to your ring. Though I do not see myself falling into any one of your sub groups exclusively, I will offer my support to any of them in a moments notice. I am very happy with the loosness of authority in this ring, as I believe no one should be a thrall to another. I look forward to when we can meet.
