Also, as a note if we did go with Wardens being the general level for all members, I'd favor also changing the name to Wardens of the Circle... This is a very valid point (with regard to each proposal), irrespective of what to which rank the bulk of the membership eventually would belong. One alternative to could be to separate the internal ranks entirely from the term "keeper": * keeper = general term referring to all members of the Circle (so that referring to a member of the Circle by calling him a "keeper" would always be formally correct) * initiate (or whatever) = entry level rank for those who have not yet fully committed / found their place / proven their loyalty / whatever * warden (or whatever) = fully powered member of the Circle * the Inner Circle = officers / administrators / whatever

Sorry I have not had time to get my proposal ready in time for the vote. Being deployed with minor access to computers and internet are kind of a limiting factor. We do however, have about a year to a year an a half before early entry starts and Im sure we will be making many changes and tweaks o whatever proposal.
I will briefly discuss what I thought about a rank structure
Initiate: Those just joining the circle, who are going through a 1 month probation period, after which they will either be made a keeper or removed from the circle.
Keeper: Full member with all rights and privleges.
Warden: Senior member of the circle. Sponsors and evaluates Initiates. Is the immediate supervisor of up to 4 Keepers.
Knight Warden: Officer of the circle. Dissiminates information settles disputes for the 2 Wardens and 8 Keepers under their supervision.
Guardian: Leader of the Circle, Responsible for all activity in his/her circle.
Watcher: Senior advisors to the Sentinel, Monitors activity of 3 circles 1 for (Shadow, Wood, and Steel) 1 for (earth, gold, and iron) 1 for (crystal, light, and I may suggest one for admn jobs maybe such as treasurer, recruitment and such)
Sentinel: Leader of the Circle
Inner Circle would be composed of Gaurdians and higher.
All members of the Guild would have one of these ranks. Circles may have thier own internal ranking structure that would be used with in thier own circle only. When the guild mees or talking to those outside thier circle the standard guild ranks will apply.
Voting: Keepers and above all get to vote.
You may only be a Warden or above in one circle. If you are a member of more than one you shall be no higher than a keeper in any other circle. For guild votes you may only vote once.
It will depend on what type of government we choose for our settlement, but I believe it should be majority rules and no ones vote counts more than another members. I believe the inner circle should make the proposals and when they are hashed out all guild members vote to approve it or not.
Sorry that was a little more long winded then intended, and it does not sound as fancy as I would like but that is my general idea.

Shadowmyst, I like the organization of this, but not for the Keepers of the Circle. We are not focusing only on military so there's not really any reason to have such a focused hierarchy. One of the things we have been talking about as a second possible plank in our charter is freedom, and having a large, or even middleing bureaucracy goes against that. We already have each Ring creating its own hierarchy, so having a stratified hierarchy in the whole Circle seems like overkill.

I will that such a structure might fit one of the rings that needs it more (like Steel, or perhaps Shadow depending on how much oversight is wanted there).
