Ympeyra, while it has a really good sound to it, it doesn't seem to fit in with the Guild. It has connotations of Imperial which we are not. If this were Pax Aeterna then I would say use that Ympeyra, but we're more peaceful and less expansionist. You've got a point there. As much as I like the name, perhaps we might want to see if another would suit the guild better?

Hmmm. I'm open to other suggestions. I would prefer that our capital be named not for its surroundings, but for the ideas it is founded on though.

Sanctuary, or some variation there of. Over used, but it gets the point across and since we look to be in line for third or fourth town in the game it's not like we have to worry to much about someone coming along and stealing the name before we get the chance to use it.

How about Asyl (Asylum), Satama (Haven), Gavan (Harbor), or Themelio (Foundation)? I understand the appeal in naming the town in plain English, but I (personally) prefer something a little more abstract. Of the above, Asyl is probably my favorite for the immediate recognition with Asylum while remaining more unique.

I still like the idea of a slavic or cyrillic based name, given the proximity of Ustalav and Brevoy. =P

One could almost swap a letter in Mirivosk to be Mirivoso which isn't a mouthful, and would seem easy to pronounce and spell.

What's the etymology of the word "Rinki"? It sounds Altaic. Or possibly Scandanavian. Though I am not an expert, I would assume "rinki"'s, which is Finnish, roots to be in the Swedish and/or German "ring", which have more or less the same meaning. I am a fan of Latin myself (if we are looking for a name, which is not English): Abbatia (abbey, monastery) Ales (augury) Amoena (pleasant) Caritas (charity) Charitas (benevolence, offering) Charus (affectionate) Fas (divine law or command/ fate, destiny/ lawful, allowed) Foedus (alliance, agreement) Laus (praise, glory, fame) Numen (divine will) Purus (pure, free from, spotless, without stain) Sacer (sacred, accursed) Salus (safety) Satus (origin, start, beginning /planting, sowing) Venia (forgiveness)

When we think of the name of our settlement we could think of where we are on Golarion. The River Kingdoms is a mix of races and cultures due to the Crusader aspect of the region, but locals would be Nordic or Slavic in nature, the Kellids... think of Conan the Barbarian. Mosswater (the ruins in the region) was founded by a merchant from Ustalav, so there may be a Transylvanian vibe? There is also the elven kingdom of Kyonin to the south and dwarven nations of the Five Kings Mountains. I like latin names, but they don't seem to fit the region. If it were set in Varisia, or the Cheliax region a more Latinized name might makes sense. But we can also remember, this is a fantasy setting where names like Mosswater, Hobbiton, Daggerdale and Solace are common.
Some examples of names that already exist in the River Kingdoms. Jovvox, Mivon, Outsea, Thom, Avendale, Seredain, Mormouth, Sevenarches, Saad, Liberthane, Bacul Gruii, Novoboro, Rookwarden... it looks like a combination of the generic fantasy genre names and the Slavic and Nordic names. Just a thought...

Rookwarden already exists in the River Kingdoms, I doubt they would let us use it. Those were just examples of what exist in the River Kingdoms already so we can see what would fit thematically
