No no no. I would love to be Guardian of Wood but all Wardens of Wood have just as much right to hold it as I do. Just because I was here before you guys doesn't give me the right to seize that position. The ** was just a way for me to set apart my 'group', "Warden of Wood**" from your 'group', "Warden of Wood". I'm the overall site admin. Designing it and making it friendly, functional, and purtty. So I have site mod abilities and you don't. Same thing with Karter's group title, "Warden of Shadow*". He has quite a bit of power but not as much as me. It doesn't give us any more power or rank in the guild. Just more power on the forum so we can mod it. Glad you asked though I was wondering who would be the first to say something haha

They feared your power, Cal.
Unfortunately, I'm immune to fear.
I'm very excited for this election and what Cal said is absolutely true. Just because some of us were here when this Guild began doesn't necessarily make us the automatic recipients of any officer positions. We're just as likely to nab a position as anyone here and all elections will be fair and true.

Probably. Cal is ambitious. But if you can get more votes than him...

That's what I thought it was Calhoun. Having an Initiate level makes our guild seem more Elite, and I thought we were going for more of a common man vibe. Maybe I was wrong

Maybe I was wrong As far as I can tell the Initiate phase of membership was made mostly to allow the Circle a less costly way to begin the process of bringing PCs into the game. Then again, maybe I'm wrong .

I don't think there actually IS an "initiate" level. There will be people applying to join our guild, but have no real title yet. I always thought the Keepers were our generalized member base and our Wardens were our "veterans," for the lack of a better word.

Yeah Keepers kinda are the initiates from what I understand.

I think you should come to the Initiate thread and discuss it there

One thing we should consider. If a person is removed from a ring for whatever reason (disciplinary or simply because they feel it's no longer a good fit for them), how should that be handled?
As I see it, there are three options. a) New ring permitting, they can simply shift from Ring A to Ring B. b) They maintain Warden status, but must undergo any iniitiation requirements of the new ring. c) They are removed to Keeper status until they are able to pledge to a new ring.
My suggestion would be A/B for folks looking to switch to a different ring for personal reasons, and C for folks being removed from their ring for disciplinary reasons.

Dario, I think we need a little clarification. Are we talking if the person is removed from Wardenship of a Ring because of something or are we talking removed from being a Keeper. The results I think are very different.
If a Warden is asked to step down I think that would be a serious thing. It should not be based on if they no longer "fit." Unless they are themselves saying that their concept has drifted away from that Ring's general purpose. If its a disciplinary matter that should be brought, I believe to the Guardian and then discussed within that Ring itself and put to a vote, maybe 2/3 majority of the Wardens. The call for a vote can be done by any Warden and must be seconded by 2 other Wardens. At that time the Warden calling for the vote will be able to give their reason for calling for that person to be removed from their Ring. I think a week late the vote can be called and if 2/3 of the Ring's Wardens agree then that person looses their Wardenship. Losing the Warden title does not remove one from the Ring they are in, they can remain a Keeper in that Ring if they want.

Out of curiosity, is there an intent to have a specified number of "wardens" at any give time. Such as 3 per ring or what???
Second I read in earlier posts there was some talk of wardens serving a "term" of a few months or so. Is that still the concensus that warden-hood is a finite term? Or am I getting that confused with guardian-hood? or what?
I think the first question being answered will help determine the latter and/or other subsequent issues in regards to stratifying the guardian/warden/keeper paradigm.

At the moment I don't think there's any plan to limit the number or term of wardens. The elected positions (Guardians/Watcher/Sentinel) will have a term of office, though at the moment there's no limit to the number of terms an individual may serve.
