I'm a fan of all four! I really love how you guys are building off each other with the design process.

Well, for my part do know I'm a copy/modify kind of guy. I can put existing stuff in Photoshop and do all sorts of things, but I can't draw a stick man without messing up a line or circle...I'm glad Zaluke stepped up for the design work!

I think the wood engraved came out the cleanest and was easiest to see the detail in.
This weekend I will work on getting a larger image created, cleaned up, and re-submitted so that Erian test it. It might have to play around with both the front and back end of the conversion to get the best result.

Yeah, I'm the sort that can't draw a straight line with a ruler.

I can likely get the stone one looking better with some work. These were pretty much just "cut out design, apply default filter" effects so for instance the shading and angles are probably not optimal. For any that might be interested, do note that Adobe has placed their Creative Suite 2 and related apps up online with serial numbers ( www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html#). Sure it's 8 years old and 32-bit, but that's still some mighty nice software for free!

Erian El'ranelen: Oooo thanks for the link. I haven't dabbled in anything outside of good ol paint when it comes to image manipulation. At least as far as the computer goes. I have a light table and a window for the images by hand

I'll definitely look into that. The graphical editor I had been using was 11 years old, lol. I've been more of a Paint Shop Pro kind of guy, but it just hasn't been the same since Corel purchased Jasc.
Adobe is supposed to be one of the best, so if I can get free legacy software I'll give it a try. Thanks for the info!

I love the Raised versions. The Greenshields (rookie unit for Steel) would have shields with just this on them, the background in Green.

I've been using Photoshop since v2, so let me know if you have questions. It's a very powerful tool once you figure out all the fiddly bits For Cougar, Nym, and our other artistically inclined folks, I'd love to see some original work produced as well! Some illuminated scrolls bearing the Circle seal impressed in wax as official charters would be very nice, for instance.

I am not one of the artistically inclined, I'm a 3D colorist.... I can't draw to save my life

See now, I count 3D colorist as artistic!

I could certainly do something that would incorporate our symbol (once its official) on an illuminated document. May even be our charter once that is all hammered out. I don't have the means to do a real wax seal, but I can do all the rest of it.

That would be awesome for an official charter, Cougar.
