sirkicley Hrods gonna love you. Who is Hrods? I found a hroderichgottfrei. Same person? And why will he be so fond of me? (I'm aka SirKicley) Also why are some member names capitalized and others not? Both account names I capitalized my name and the board seems to have defaulted it to lower case. Minor gripe I know - but it's irritating nonetheless.

Hrod (Hroderichgottfrei) loves languages and Slavic names as well.

He also has a soft spot in his heart? for bearded barbarians.

Maybe Gintigael isn't sure you actually have one?

He also has a soft spot in his heart? for bearded barbarians. Well I definitely fashioned the original character (pen and paper D&D) after a norse viking barbarian - large brawny and bearded of course with a temper control issue. I as a person am a huge fan of norse lore and history, and my love of Tolkien and his use of a lot of those overtures in his naming nomenclature, as well as cultures with a norse or other slavic feel to them. (i.e. Rohan, Arnor etc).

I've been waist deep in Cornwell's Saxon Stories, so Norse is on my mind. Big fan of the Saxons and Slavs too.

Miranor. I like Tolkienesque names, but I think they are nodded at so much by fantasy writers that the names all look really similar. I'm afraid that if we stick to that nameology (hehe) the name of our settlement might get glossed over?

Hmm, Miranor, being so Tolkienesque just does have a warm, happy, homey feeling for me. I think the current top two for me are Miranor and Mirivosk.

I still love Mirivosk the best.
